Default Elite Skill Capping

In my experience, this is best done with henchies rather than PUG. Just yesterday, I completed getting all my monk elites for my primary monk with henchies.

At first I thought it would be difficult to do so at the Fire Islands, so I joined a group that claimed they were doing the bonus/skill capping at Ring of Fire. All I wanted there was Shield of Deflection since I already got Aura of Faith on doing the actual mission.

Everyone knows there are two spots the breeze keeper boss spawns at. The first one is near the front entrace to the Mursaat stronghold and the second, far harder to reach, especially if you go through the spiders/lava imps, is nearer the back entrance.

So the first boss spot spawned the mesmer breeze keeper boss. Does anyone know if this boss casts backfire?

We did the bonus and went out the back entrance to search for the other boss. All the while the mesmer in the party kept wanting to kill the last Mursaat mesmer boss that triggers the cut-scene.

It seemed to me, nobody was interested in getting the other breeze keeper boss because the so-called leader suddenly announced there was nothing out there, not that we went very far.

So the group went back to kill the last boss...well too bad, if you won't help me get the elite then I see no purpose in me being there...so ppl died killing the last boss...

I then decided to do it with henchmen and first time I tried, the first boss spot spawned the monk boss....sweet.

Then I did Abbadon's Mouth with henchies and got through the entrance to the Mursaat stronghold...and went out the back entrance..got through the chained hydras/flesh golems and finally got my last elite, Restore Condition

I agree...I always take the henchies rather than joining a PUG if I'm just capping a skill

I do it either with henchies or with a guild team. I agree with you that most PUGs don't work very well for skill hunting. I remember going for skills in Dragon's Lair. Pretty much every time the PUG I was in then killed a facet, some guy run straight through the portal before anyone had the chance to capture a skill. Most people seem to think, completing the mission is the only reason to start it. They can't seem to get it that others might do it for other reasons as well...

My last 5 elites I did it with henchies.

1. No drop outs
2. No people running ahead
3. No person running ahead on a mission with out letting you cap a skill (dragon mission)
4. You can re zone to a zone as many times as you would like until the boss spawns (my personal favorite)

Sure it might take you longer. And you wish that the henchies would interupt the monk bosses when they are resurrecting their budies. But in the end, is faster. Plus no drops outs after some one gets their skill, or say that the monk bosses are too hard.

PS: I still did it as a healing / protection monk
